Hearts of Oak SC secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Young Apostles in their Ghana Premier League encounter at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday.
The game saw Hearts take the lead in the 43rd minute through Michael Awuah Mensah, who found the net to put his side ahead just before halftime. The Phobians doubled their lead early in the second half after Young Apostles’ Rahman Rulf Abdul scored an own goal in the 47th minute, sealing the victory for the home team.
Hussein Mohammed delivered a stellar performance for Hearts of Oak and was deservedly named Player of the Match. His influence in the midfield and overall work rate were instrumental in securing the three points for his side.
The win boosts Hearts of Oak’s position in the league standings as they are currently on top of the table with 36 points, Hearts of Oak continue their push for the title in the 2024-25 season.
