Hearts of Oak’s Didi Dramani Sees Homowo Charity Cup as Key Test
Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani says Sunday’s Homowo Charity Cup clash against Heart of Lions will be an important step in the team’s preseason preparations.
“We have a direction,” Dramani said ahead of the match, “and this game will give us the opportunity to bring something out.”
The Phobians have been active in the transfer market, adding several new faces to strengthen their squad after an inconsistent campaign last season. Dramani believes the fixture will provide a perfect chance to assess how his new signings blend with the existing core of the team.
Heart of Lions, led by experienced coach Bashir Hayford, have taken a quieter approach in the market, but the Kpando-based side remain confident of pulling off an upset.
The clash at the Accra Sports Stadium promises an early test of both teams’ readiness for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The Homowo Charity Cup, played as part of the annual Homowo festivities, also serves a noble cause, with proceeds from the event supporting charitable projects.
