“He’ll handle the noise”: Thomas Frank on Kudus’ return to the London Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has backed Mohammed Kudus to cope with the hostile atmosphere expected when he faces his former club West Ham this Saturday.
Kudus, who joined Spurs from the Hammers in the summer for £55 million, will make his first return to the London Stadium on matchday four of the Premier League season.
Asked whether Kudus would be warmly received by the West Ham faithful, Frank was doubtful.
“You don’t think they will applaud him? Maybe not,” he said. “I’m pretty sure players and myself hear the extra noise, but then you get into your zone. I’m sure it will be the same for Kudus and anyone in a hostile atmosphere.”
Spurs, who lost to Bournemouth a fortnight ago, will be seeking redemption against their London neighbours. They have collected six points from their opening three matches, while West Ham sit on three points from a possible nine.
The clash promises to be a fiery encounter, with Kudus set to take center stage against his former teammates in the London derby.
