President of the Ghana Badminton Association, Evans Yeboah, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Treasurer of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), citing his vast experience and financial expertise as key assets he brings to the role.

Speaking on Sporty Breakfast on Sporty FM, Yeboah emphasized that the GOC has access to 51 grants across various sporting disciplines, and one of his major goals is to ensure Ghana taps into those opportunities.

There are 51 grants available to the Ghana Olympic Committee for various disciplines. We just need to apply for them, he noted.

He outlined his top priorities should he be elected Treasurer, stressing that experience, technical know-how, and grant application skills would be crucial to securing funding and supporting Ghanaian athletes and federations.

I bring to the table experience, technical know-how and, most importantly, grant applications. These are the three biggest things I want to do, Yeboah stated confidently.

Yeboah further highlighted his professional background, saying,

I’m a chartered management accountant, I’ve been in investment banking and management consulting. These things largely propel me to be able to assist the GOC to look out for athletes, coaches and the federations.

With his campaign centered around resource mobilization and financial accountability, Yeboah is positioning himself as a candidate capable of strengthening the GOC’s financial structure to benefit the entire sporting ecosystem in Ghana.
