Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie has declared readiness to support Kurt Okraku succeed.
Afriyie lost the presidential elections to Okraku in 2019 before his disqualification during the October 2023 elections, allowing the incumbent to go unopposed.
Since then, Afriyie has been a critic on Okraku’s led administration for what he term as underwhelming performance.
But the outspoken football administrator has resolved to help Okraku for the betterment of Ghana football, saying he cannot continue to hammer on the flaws of the domestic football governing body.
“We are in a digital world, and there are so many ways to make money. You can’t have your Premier League being offered for free. If it’s being offered for free, then it means there is something wrong with the product. If you have a top brand like the Premier League, you should make money out of it.
“If we are not getting broadcast partners, then it’s a problem. We need to find a way to address it. I don’t want to be hammering on all the flaws. This year, I’m ready to help Kurt Okraku. I have already told him” he concluded.
Kurt Okraku’s mandate as the leader of the Ghana FA will expire in 2027.
