Jennifer Cudjoe Calls on Sponsors to Back Black Queens After Strong WAFCON Performance

Black Queens midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe is urging corporate Ghana to rally behind the national women’s team, describing the current momentum as a golden chance to boost women’s football in the country.

Fresh off the team’s bronze-medal finish at the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco—their best showing since 2016—Cudjoe believes the rising public and media attention signals the perfect time for investment.

“What we achieved didn’t happen by chance. We’ve worked for this, and now is the time for companies to step in and help us grow the women’s game,” she said at a Bank of Africa Ghana-hosted breakfast meeting.

Cudjoe’s comments come ahead of Ghana’s double-header against Egypt in October, with qualification to the 2026 Women’s AFCON at stake.

The event was attended by senior executives from Bank of Africa Ghana, including Managing Director Abderrahmane Belbachir and Executive Director William Boateng, who pledged continued support for women’s football.
