Jordan Ayew Joins Leicester City on Two-Year Deal

Leicester City has completed the signing of Ghanaian international, Jordan Ayew on a two-year deal from Crystal Palace in a fee reported in the region of £8m plus add-ons.

The 32-year-old forward joins his fourth Premier League club, having previously played for Aston Villa, Swansea City, and Crystal Palace.

Ayew spent six seasons at Crystal Palace, making 212 appearances and scoring 25 goals, however, appearances under manager, Glasner appear limited and so he has decided to move on.

He expressed his delight at joining Leicester City and thanked the club for their efforts to bring him to the King Power Stadium.

“I’m very happy to be here and I’m proud,” Ayew said. “I want to thank the Club as they fought hard to bring me here – it happened quickly and I’m so happy to be here.”

Ayew is excited to work under Leicester City manager Steve Cooper, who he worked with at Swansea and believes that he can continue to produce results at the age of 32.

“As a player, when you hear that the manager wants you, it just makes you want to come and work under him and to try to improve,” Ayew said. “Even though I’m 32, as a player you always want to learn and improve. I’m here to work hard and help the team achieve their targets.”

He will now link up with his Leicester City team-mates ahead of their Premier League trip to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham on Saturday 24 August with kick-off at 3pm.

Ayew’s arrival will add depth and experience to Leicester City’s forward line.
