Jordan Ayew scores a late consolation for Leicester City against Chelsea

Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew scored a late consolation goal from the spot as his side, Leicester City went down 2-1 to Chelsea in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium.

Chelsea dominated the opening half of the game soaring to a 1-0 half time lead through Senegalese forward, Nicholas Jackson who was set up by Enzo Fernandez.

In the second half, the home side upped the tempo pressing Chelsea high and forcing them into making mistakes but they couldn’t take advantage.

With 20 minutes remaining, Chelsea extended their lead through Enzo Fernandez with a fine header that left Hermanson with no chance.

Deep into injury time, Leicester City were awarded a penalty and Jordan Ayew stepped up to expertly convert to half the deficit, however it was too little too late as the visitors took all three points on the road.

This win takes Chelsea into third place with 22 points ahead of Arsenal, Nottingham Forrest and Newcastle who all tied on 19 points and play later today.
