Jordan Ayew shines as Leicester City brush off Tranmere in EFL Cup
Ghana international, Jordan Ayew put up a fine showing, scoring his first goal for Leicester City and providing an assist as they brushed off League Two side Tranmere Rovers 4-0 in the EFL Cup second round.
The 32-year-old forward set the tone for the Foxes’ victory.
He opened the scoring for Leicester in the 38th minute, with seven minutes of first half time to play.
Ayew showed his class, picking up a pass on the left side of Leicester City’s attack before cutting inside and curling his strike in the top right corner.
The Ghanaian continued his fine display by turning the provider in the 71st minute for Nigerian, Wilfred Ndidi to extend their tally to 3 after Stephy Mavididi had converted from a spot kick to make it 2 for Leicester.
Jordan Ayew who joined the Foxes from Crystal Palace just last week lasted 72 minutes and was replaced by 19-year-old Chris Popov.
Harry Winks sealed the deal for Leicester City as he added a fourth in the 90th minute to book a place in the third round of the EFL Cup.
