Ghana winger, Joseph Paintsil showcased his remarkable form once again, scoring his eighth goal of the season in LA Galaxy’s 3-2 triumph over the Portland Timbers in Major League Soccer on Saturday evening.

The 26-year-old also recorded two assists, positioning himself as the front-runner for the MVP award of the game.

Gabriel Pec opened the scoring for LA Galaxy in the 38th minute, with Paintsil providing the assist.

The former Genk winger was pivotal once more in the 48th minute, delivering his second assist for former Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig to extend the lead.

Portland Timbers responded with a goal from Jonathan Rodriguez in the 52nd minute, narrowing the gap.

However, Paintsil restored LA Galaxy’s two-goal advantage in the 58th minute with his eighth goal of the season.

Despite a second-half goal from Santiago Moreno in the 73rd minute, Portland Timbers couldn’t secure an equalizer. LA Galaxy held firm for the narrow victory, earning another three points.

LA Galaxy continues to lead the MLS table with 49 points after match week 26.
