Asante Kotoko have confirmed the appointment of Coach Karim Zito and Prince Owusu to lead the club’s technical team for the remainder of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, following the exit of head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The announcement comes just a day after the club officially parted ways with Dr. Ogum in what was described as a mutual agreement, aimed at serving the best interests of the club. The decision followed a poor run of form that included a 2-0 defeat to Nations FC, leaving the Porcupine Warriors 4th on the league table with 47 points after 28 matches.
Zito, a seasoned tactician, left his role as head coach of Dreams FC to take up the new challenge. At the time of his departure, he had led Dreams to 11th place on the table with 37 points from 28 games. He now joins forces with Prince Owusu, bringing fresh perspective and experience to Kotoko’s dugout in a critical phase of the campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors currently sit 4th on the league table with 47 points from 28 matches, and with just a few games left in the campaign, the club is aiming to finish the season strongly under the new technical leadership.
Zito and Owusu are expected to take charge immediately, with preparations already underway for their upcoming fixtures. Their leadership will be critical as the club prepares for a high-stakes clash against rivals Hearts of Oak in the coming weeks.
