Chief Executive of The BAC Group, Dr. Ernest Koranteng, has urged Asante Kotoko to revamp their squad with elite talent from across the African continent if they are to make a meaningful impact in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
In a candid assessment of the club’s current state, Dr. Koranteng stated:
“To make a strong statement in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, Kotoko must bring in top-quality talent from across the continent.”
He further emphasized the need for a higher calibre of players, bluntly noting that “Kotoko’s current squad are not the best players in Ghana.”
Highlighting the club’s stature and history, he added, “Kotoko is a big club and should be competing up with Africa’s elite.”
His remarks come at a time when the Porcupine Warriors are preparing for their continental campaign and looking to reclaim their place among Africa’s football powerhouses.
The call for better recruitment is seen as a challenge to Kotoko’s management to invest wisely and build a squad worthy of the club’s legacy.
