Kudus Scores Third PL Goal as West Ham Draw with Brighton; Lamptey Impresses in Cameo

Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus continued his impressive displays in the Premier League, scoring his third goal of the season as West Ham United salvaged a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The first half saw little in terms of goalmouth action, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut chances.

However, Brighton broke the deadlock early in the second half through Mats Wieffer, who capitalized on a goalkeeping error by Lucas Fabianski to give the visitors the lead.

West Ham responded swiftly, and Mohammed Kudus was the hero. The Ghanaian forward pounced on a rebound after Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen parried Jarrod Bowen’s shot, heading into an open net from close range to restore parity for the Hammers.

Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey, Kudus’ international teammate, entered the fray in the 67th minute, replacing Joel Veltman.

The right-back made an immediate impact, contributing solidly both defensively and offensively. Lamptey nearly snatched a late winner for Brighton, but his effort was thwarted by a brilliant defensive intervention.

Both teams pushed for a winner in the final minutes, but neither could find the decisive goal, with the match ending in a draw.

Kudus’ equalizer underscores his growing importance to West Ham, while Lamptey’s performance highlighted his versatility and value to Brighton.
