Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori Agyemang, has promised a cash reward to Asante Kotoko players if they can net five goals against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the upcoming 2025 President’s Cup.

The two giants of Ghanaian football will renew their fierce rivalry on Sunday, July 6, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff set for 4:00 PM.

As part of preparations for the much-anticipated clash, Mr. Ofori Agyemang, alongside Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, visited Kotoko’s training grounds on Monday, June 30, to offer words of encouragement and rally support.

During the visit, the Kumasi Mayor announced a goal-based incentive package, promising $200 per goal scored—up to $1,000 if the team nets five past the Phobians.

We want five goals from you on Sunday,” he told the players. “Every goal will earn you $200, and we will bring the money to the stadium. Beat Hearts of Oak and make Kumasi proud.

The 2025 President’s Cup, held annually in honour of the sitting president, will have President John Dramani Mahama in attendance to witness the clash between Ghana’s most decorated clubs.
