Chief Executive of The BAC Group, Dr. Ernest Koranteng, has urged President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, to consider stepping down after his current term which expires in 2027 instead of seeking a tenure extension.

Speaking on TV3’s Sports Station, Dr. Koranteng described the move to amend the GFA constitution to allow a possible extension as a “bait”, warning it could erode the goodwill the President currently enjoys after enduring a torrid start to life as GFA boss.

“Let someone continue and leave when the stakes are high,” he said, advising that lasting legacies are built by knowing when to exit.

The GFA is expected to vote on the proposed amendments at its Ordinary Congress on August 12, a move that has stirred public and industry debate.

Dr. Koranteng’s comments add to growing calls for leadership renewal and accountability within Ghana football governance.
