Leicester City has confirmed the permanent signing of exciting young Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku on a long-term contact from Portuguese champions Sporting CP.

Following a successful loan spell last season, Fatawu has inked a five-year deal, keeping him at the King Power Stadium until June 2028.

Fatawu’s impact during his loan stint was undeniable.

He played a pivotal role in Leicester’s triumphant return to the Premier League, contributing a healthy tally of 6 goals and a remarkable 13 assists in the Championship.

His attacking prowess and creativity were instrumental in propelling the Foxes back to the top tier of English football.

Fatawu expressed his delight at making his move permanent: “I feel amazing. It’s so good to be back and I’m just back to focus again for next season.” His enthusiasm highlights his commitment to the club and his eagerness to contribute further.

The Premier League presents a fresh challenge for the young winger. “I feel so much motivation to be in the Premier League. It’s something new to me,” Fatawu said. This hunger to prove himself on the biggest stage bodes well for Leicester City’s future.

“I’m going to go hard for that, with the team,” he declared.
