Match Report: Hearts of Oak Record First Home Win of the Season against Eleven Wonders

Accra Hearts of Oak recorded their first home win of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season with a narrow but deserved 1–0 victory over Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday evening.

The Phobians started brightly and were rewarded in the 18th minute when winger Enoch Asubonteng produced a fine strike to break the deadlock. His goal proved to be the decisive moment of the encounter, as Hearts controlled much of the game but were unable to add to their tally despite creating several openings.

Eleven Wonders, searching for their first win of the campaign, showed flashes of promise after the break but rarely troubled the Hearts defence. The home side’s backline once again stood firm, maintaining their impressive record of not conceding a goal in the opening three fixtures of the season.

The result extends Hearts’ unbeaten run in the league to nine matches, a streak that dates back to last season. With seven points from three games, the 21-time Ghana Premier League champions have climbed to the top of the table, at least temporarily, ahead of the weekend’s remaining fixtures.

For Eleven Wonders, it was another frustrating outing. After three matches, they remain winless with just a solitary point, leaving them with work to do if they are to avoid being dragged into early relegation battles.

The Phobians will look to build on this strong start as they chase their first league crown in four years, while Wonders must regroup quickly to turn their form around.
