Medeama Edge Kotoko in Thrilling TnA Stadium Opener

Medeama SC secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Asante Kotoko in the inaugural match at the newly built TnA Stadium.

The much-anticipated clash between the two Ghanaian giants lived up to its billing, with goals, controversy, and late drama captivating the crowd.

Kotoko started brightly, with Albert Amoah coming close to opening the scoring early on. However, Medeama gradually asserted their dominance and took the lead through Nana Kofi Babil in the 20th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error.

The Mauves and Yellows had a chance to double their advantage from the penalty spot but Diawisie Taylor’s effort was saved.

The Porcupine Warriors fought back and restored parity through substitute Bernard Somuah in the 64th minute.

The game seemed destined for a draw until the 89th minute when Prosper Boakye pounced on a loose ball to secure a dramatic victory for Medeama.

The TnA Stadium is now duly inaugurated and ready to host Medeama’s games when they 2024-25 season officially begins in September.
