Medeama Target Back-to-Back Wins as Vision FC Visit Tarkwa
Medeama SC will look to build on their perfect start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season when they host Vision FC at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium on Friday, September 19.
The Mauve and Yellow began their campaign in fine fashion, recording a 2–0 away win over Young Apostles in Dormaa. Goals from Jacob Amu Mensah and teenage forward Paul Yeboah secured the points, extending Medeama’s unbeaten league run to 12 matches (11 wins, one draw).
Champions of the 2022/23 season have turned Tarkwa into a fortress in recent years. Last season, they won 12 of their 17 home games, drew three, and lost only twice, netting a league-best 28 goals while conceding just eight. Their 39 home points were unmatched in the division.
Vision FC, meanwhile, began their campaign with a goalless draw at home against FC Samartex 1996, showing resilience after being reduced to ten men in the 75th minute.
Coach Nana Agyemang will take positives from that display, but his side’s away form remains a concern. Vision dropped points in 15 of their 17 away fixtures last season, conceding 24 goals and winning just once, a 2–0 victory over Accra Lions early in the campaign.
History also favours the hosts. Since Vision’s promotion to the Premier League, the two sides have met once in Tarkwa, where Medeama ran out 3–1 winners.
With their impressive home record and momentum behind them, Medeama enter Friday night’s clash as clear favourites. Vision FC, however, will hope to upset the odds and claim a statement result on one of the league’s toughest grounds.
