Ghanaian attacking midfielder Michael Baidoo’s 44th-minute penalty secured a 1-0 win for IF Elfsborg against AS Roma in Europa League Round 2 at Boras Arena.

The 25-year-old played 86 minutes and was key to Elfsborg’s crucial victory in their first Europa League home match over decades.

Baidoo confidently placed his penalty in the bottom left corner after a foul, marking his first goal in the competition.

He performed impressively, completing 80% of his passes (24/30), taking two shots on target, and making four touches in the opponent’s box.

Ghanaian defender Terry Yegbe also played a significant role for Elfsborg, enhancing defensive stability, while former Inter Allies striker Jalal Abdulai replaced Arber Zeneli in the 63rd minute.

Baidoo has been involved in 21 goals, netting 14 and assisting 7, across 33 games in all competitions.
