Liverpool fans have reason to celebrate as Mohamed Salah has officially extended his contract with the Reds, further solidifying his place among the club’s all-time greats. The Egyptian King’s decision to commit his future to Anfield is a major boost for Liverpool.
It is reported that, Salah’s new contract is a two-year extension that will see him earn £375,000 per week, making him the highest-paid player in Liverpool’s history.
This season, Salah has once again proven indispensable, directly contributing to Liverpool’s success with 24 goals and 13 assists across all competitions.
Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, Salah has shattered records and rewritten the history books. He holds the record for the most goals scored in a 38-game Premier League season (32 goals in 2017/18), a feat that earned him his first Golden Boot. Salah has also become Liverpool’s all-time top scorer in European competitions, surpassing legends such as Steven Gerrard.
In the Premier League, Salah stands out as one of the competition’s greatest imports, surpassing benchmarks faster than many of the game’s iconic figures. He reached 100 Premier League goals for Liverpool in fewer games than any other player in the club’s history and ranks among the top five African scorers in Premier League history.
Now, with his new deal secured, Salah’s Liverpool career numbers are nothing short of extraordinary. To date, he has made 349 appearances, scoring 211 goals and providing 88 assists.
