Mohammed Salisu Lauds AS Monaco Coach Adi Hutter as One of the Best
Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu has heaped praise on AS Monaco head coach Adi Hutter, describing the Austrian tactician as one of the finest he has worked with during his career.
Salisu made these remarks ahead of Monaco’s Ligue 1 clash against Olympique Marseille, a match where Monaco suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat, with the defender completing the full 90 minutes.
Having recently recovered from an injury sustained during Ghana’s 2-0 loss to Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, Salisu has been steadily reintegrating into the Monaco squad.
Speaking about his manager, Salisu compared Hutter to former Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhüttl, under whom he played in the English Premier League.
“He reminds me of one of my previous coaches, Ralph Hasenhüttl, with his philosophy of high-pressing football. It’s a style I enjoy and one that suits my game perfectly,” Salisu stated.
The Black Stars defender also highlighted Monaco’s growth under Hutter’s leadership, expressing satisfaction with the team’s development.
“I feel we have made significant progress from last season to this one. He’s undoubtedly one of the best coaches I’ve had the privilege to work with,” he added.
Currently sitting third in the Ligue 1 standings, Monaco has been a strong force under Hutter.
The Austrian coach, who previously led teams like Red Bull Salzburg and Young Boys to Austrian Bundesliga and Swiss Super League titles respectively, also secured Monaco’s qualification for this season’s Champions League, further solidifying his reputation as a top-tier manager.
