Mumuni Fuseina made history when she took to the pitch at the Alui Mahama Stadium in Tamale, becoming the first ever female footballer to play in the All Star game at the third edition of the All Star Festival.

Fuseina was selected for the All Star team as they took on the Northern Star team made up of players who play for some selected Premier League and Division One clubs in the Northern region.

Though she started from the bench, but when she took to the pitch for the warm up session the fans were in loud voices, cheering her name amid applause.

She had an impressive showing when she was introduced into the game later in the second half, her touches of the football, her strength and agility made it difficult to differentiate her from her male colleagues.

Records follow the Turkish based footballer everywhere she goes. FUSEINA holds the record as the youngest player to appear in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup when she played for Ghana in 2014 in Costa Rica. She also went on to play in the next two editions of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan and France in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

Mumuni Fuseina currently plays for Alg Spor in the Turkish Women Super League in Turkey. She’s also a former graduate the Right to Dream Academy, graduating in 2016/17.

Born in Wa in the Upper West Region, Mumuni Fuseina has also played for Wa based club Ghana Telecon,  and Pearlpia Ladies FC in Tamale.

She has played for a number of clubs in Asia including playing in Jordan for Amman club in 2019/20. Fuseina also played in the Uzbekistan Women’s Premier League for FC Sogdiana in 2021/22.

Her stint in Turkey began when she moved to Fatih Vatan in 2023/24 and currently playing for Alg spor also based in Turkey.
