Nsoatreman Exits CAF Confederations Cup After Defeat to Constantine

Ghana FA Cup champions, Nsoatreman, have bowed out of the CAF Confederations Cup after a 1-0 loss to Algerian side CS Constantine in the second leg of their preliminary round tie.

The defeat, which came on the heels of a 2-0 loss in the first leg at home, sealed their fate with a 3-0 aggregate scoreline.

CS Constantine’s forward, Ben Shaa delivered the decisive blow in the second leg, netting the only goal of the game in the 19th minute. His strike effectively ended Nsoatreman’s hopes of mounting a comeback after the first-leg deficit, ensuring Constantine’s progression to the next round of the competition.

Despite the scoreline, Nsoatreman gave a commendable performance, showing great resolve and determination throughout the match. They matched the experienced Algerian side stride for stride but were unable to find the breakthrough they needed to overturn the tie.

This was Nsoatreman’s first venture into continental football, having qualified by winning the Ghana FA Cup. Though they failed to advance past the preliminary round, their debut showed moments of bravery and promise. Going up against a seasoned side like Constantine, Nsoatreman played with spirit but ultimately lacked the experience needed to pull off an upset.

The experience gained from this continental outing will undoubtedly serve the team well as they continue to grow and compete in Ghanaian and African football.

Nsoatreman will now turn their attention back to domestic competitions, with the goal of building on this experience and aiming for future success in the CAF Confederations Cup. While their debut campaign ended sooner than hoped, the club can take pride in their effort and look forward to improving in the coming seasons.

CS Constantine, on the other hand, will look ahead to the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup as they continue their quest for continental glory.
