OGC Nice Sporting Director Florian Maurice Hails Signing of Salis Abdul Samed
Sporting Director of French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, Florian Maurice, has expressed his delight at the signing of Ghanaian international Salis Abdul Samed, describing the midfielder as a dynamic and disciplined addition to the squad.
Samed arrives from RC Lens, where he became one of Ligue 1’s most consistent performers after joining from Clermont Foot in 2022.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Sunderland, playing a pivotal role in the Black Cats’ return to the Premier League after an eight-year absence.
We were looking for dynamism, impact, and good energy in midfield,” Maurice said. “Salis is a balanced player, with a slightly more defensive profile than his direct competitors. He is fully committed on the pitch, has a real personality, and his knowledge of Ligue 1 will contribute positively to communication and the dynamic in the dressing room.”
Nice believe Samed’s signing will be key in reinforcing their midfield options and bolstering their ambitions ahead of the upcoming Ligue 1 season.
