Black Stars head coach Otto Addo believes Ghana can secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup if they sustain their current form.
The team recently ended a six-game winless streak with emphatic back-to-back victories over Chad and Madagascar in the qualifiers. Their dominant 5-0 and 3-0 wins during the March international window propelled them to the top of Group I, three points ahead of second-placed Comoros.
Addo sees these performances as a solid foundation for the remaining matches.
We have certain areas where we can always improve. We had a solid defense and scored a lot of goals [against Chad and Madagascar], he told Joy Sports.
But the connection has to be much stronger, especially in the second game against Mali, which will be very tough. If we continue like this, we will be successful.
With four matches remaining, Addo remains optimistic that maintaining this momentum will ensure Ghana’s qualification for a second consecutive World Cup.
