Ghana’s Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has expressed satisfaction with the pitch conditions at the Accra Sports Stadium as the team prepares for their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday.

National Sports Authority (NSA) Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah shared the update after visiting the team alongside Sports Minister Kofi Adams on Monday. With just days to go before the match, the NSA is working around the clock to finalize preparations at the venue.

“We are on it. Yes, a lot of emergency renovation work is needed, and that’s what we are doing, but God willing, everything will be fine by game day,” Ankrah assured.

Regarding the playing surface, he noted, “We have just two more treatment sessions left, and then the pitch will be ready. The adjustments are based on specifications given by the coach to those maintaining the field.”

Ankrah further revealed that Addo is pleased with the progress. “Coach Otto Addo has his strategy mapped out for Chad, so he knows exactly what he is looking for. From what I’ve heard, he is happy with the pitch. Any necessary final touches will be communicated before Friday.”

After facing Chad, the Black Stars will turn their attention to Madagascar, whom they will play on March 24.
