Ghana head coach Otto Addo has recorded his first win in his second stint as Ghana Black Stars head coach.

This was after his team came from behind to win 2-1 against Mali on Thursday night in their third 2026 World Cup qualifier at the 26th March Stadium in Bamako.

Mali had taken the lead through Kamory Doumbia in the first minute of first-half stoppage time after the ball bounced off him following an attempted clearance.

Ernest Nuamah then scored the equaliser with just two minutes to the hour mark from a perfect Salis Abdul Samed cross.

Jordan Ayew, who was subbed on with barely five minutes to the end of the match, scored the winner in the 94th minute to send Ghana second in Group I.

Otto Addo’s first game on his return as Ghana coach was a 2-1 loss to Nigeria in March during an international break before drawing 2-2 against Uganda days later.

In his first stint, Otto Addo qualified Ghana to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after edging Nigeria in the playoff.
