Pep Guardiola Rules Out Managing Another Club, Eyes National Team Role
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made a shocking revelation about his future in football management. In a candid interview, the Spanish tactician revealed that he has no intention of managing another club, citing a lack of energy to start anew.
Guardiola, who has been at the helm of Manchester City since 2016, has achieved unprecedented success with the club, winning multiple Premier League titles, FA Cups, and League Cups. However, the 52-year-old manager has made it clear that he will not be leaving Manchester City to manage another club.
“I’m not going to manage another team,” Guardiola stated emphatically. “I’m not talking about the long-term future, but what I’m not going to do is leave Man City, go to another country, and do the same thing as now.”
The Spaniard began his managerial career at Barcelona B before being given the mandate of the Barcelona first team after Frank Rijkaard left in 2008 where he chalked a lot of success before taken charge of Bayern Munich in 2013 after a one year break from management.
Guardiola, who recently signed a two-year contract renewal at City, cited his advanced age and the exhausting process of building a new team as the primary reasons for his decision.
“I wouldn’t have the energy… The thought of starting somewhere else, all the process of training and so on… No, no, no!”
However, Guardiola did leave the door open for a potential role as a national team manager. “Maybe a national team, but that’s different,” he hinted.
Guardiola’s revelation has sent shockwaves throughout the football world, with many fans and pundits speculating about his future plans. While he may not be managing another club, Guardiola’s legacy as one of the greatest managers in football history is already cemented.
