President John Dramani Mahama has expressed strong confidence in the Black Queens, following their bronze medal triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
In a powerful address at the Jubilee House, the President assured the team of his full backing and boldly predicted an even brighter future.
“I know I will see you here before I leave office. You will come to the Jubilee House with a gold medal,” President Mahama stated with conviction, commending the Queens for their spirited performance and resilience at the continental tournament.
The President also pledged unwavering government support for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the women’s national team.
“I want to pledge my support to the FA. We will do everything we can to support,” he said.
Ghana’s third-place finish at WAFCON 2024 marks the team’s first podium appearance since 2016, reigniting national hope in women’s football.
