Ghanaian winger Raymond Anokye Asante has completed a permanent move to Belgian top-flight club Royal Charleroi SC during the ongoing January transfer window.
The Jupiler Pro League side confirmed the signing of the 20-year-old from Serie A side Udinese Calcio on a one-year contract, with an option to extend for two additional years at the end of the season.
The former Young Apostles player, earned the move after impressing with Charleroi’s Reserve side in the 1ste Nationale ACFF competition on loan.
In an official announcement on the club’s website, Charleroi stated: “Sporting Charleroi is pleased to announce the permanent transfer of Raymond Asante from Udinese Calcio (Serie A). Arriving on loan this summer, the young Ghanaian winger is now under contract with the club until 2026, with an option for two extra years.
“Despite being sidelined by injury after some impressive performances with the U23s, Raymond has displayed exceptional professionalism. The club has full confidence in his abilities and believes he will gradually establish himself in the first team.”
Asante scored two goals in eight league appearances for Charleroi’s B team in the Belgian First Amateur Division during his loan spell.
