Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku following his appointment as the Second Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

In an official statement issued on Monday, Hon. Adams hailed Okraku’s elevation as a proud moment for Ghana, lauding it as a recognition of his “dedication, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the growth of football both in Ghana and across the African continent.”

The Minister further praised Okraku’s transformative initiatives in Ghanaian football, notably the “Catch Them Young” refereeing project, the establishment of zonal football academies, and his staunch advocacy for grassroots talent development. These interventions, according to Adams, are laying the groundwork for the long-term success of football in Ghana.

Hon. Adams also highlighted the strategic importance of Okraku’s new CAF role, noting that it offers Ghana a stronger voice in continental football governance and sets the stage for greater influence on the global stage.
