Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has dismissed concerns regarding Thomas Partey’s loss of the Black Stars captaincy, emphasizing that the Arsenal midfielder remains committed to the team’s success.
Speaking on Sporty FM, Asante Twum stated, “It’s not a problem for Thomas Partey that he’s no longer the Black Stars captain. It’s not about individual aspirations.”
Partey, who previously served as deputy captain under Andre Ayew, continues in the same role under Jordan Ayew.
Ghana is set to face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco for a match against Madagascar on Monday.
The Black Stars currently occupy second place in Group I with nine points, tied with group leaders Comoros.
