Head coach of Ghana’s U20 national team, the Black Satellites, Desmond Ofei, has highlighted the advantages of arriving in Egypt well ahead of the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

Ofei emphasized that the early arrival has greatly aided the team’s acclimatization and overall readiness. The squad touched down in Cairo over the weekend, giving them nearly two weeks to adapt before their first group-stage match.

We are very fortunate to have arrived early in Egypt to acclimatize. The conditions are excellent. The training pitch is in great shape, the facilities are fantastic, and the food is good, Ofei shared. We are in a good space, which allows us to really focus, work hard, and get to our best level as soon as possible.

Ghana has been drawn into Group C, where they will face strong opponents in Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic. The Black Satellites are aiming to improve on past performances and secure their fifth U20 AFCON title, with their last triumph coming in 2021.
