Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has assured fans of the team’s readiness ahead of their midweek clash against Accra Lions, despite admitting to concerns about player fatigue following a congested fixture schedule.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Dr. Ogum highlighted the physical strain his squad has endured due to the quick turnaround between games.

We are very prepared after our last game we played. We have tried to have our recovery session, unfortunately, we had to hit the road the following day, so there is still an element of stress in terms of fatigue in the players, he revealed.

Despite these challenges, the coach remains focused and confident in his side’s tactical approach and ability to deliver a strong performance on the pitch.

We are ready in terms of what we have to offer on the field—tactically, we are ready, he emphasized.

Dr. Ogum also acknowledged the threat posed by Accra Lions, noting that their current position on the league table could fuel their determination.

If you look at Accra Lions, they are a very good side. As at now, they are not in a good standing on the league log, so they look more motivated to play and win and get out of where they are now, he added.

Kotoko will face Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday as part of the Ghana Premier League’s outstanding Week 22 fixtures. The game presents an opportunity for the Porcupine Warriors to build momentum in the final stretch of the season.
