Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed confidence in Ghana’s national team, stating that they have the potential to become one of the best sides in Africa if they develop strong team chemistry and cohesion.
Speaking to Joy Sports after Ghana’s recent qualifier matches against Chad and Madagascar, the AFC Bournemouth striker emphasized the importance of teamwork and understanding among players.
We could be one of the best teams in Africa. We have the talent and quality, but we need to build chemistry and cohesion. That will make us stronger and more competitive. Semenyo said.
Ghana’s performances in the qualifiers have been a mix of promising moments and areas that require improvement. While the team showcased individual brilliance, there have been concerns about consistency and fluidity in their play. Semenyo believes that with better understanding on the pitch, the Black Stars can maximize their potential and compete at the highest level on the continent.
The Black Stars are in a crucial rebuilding phase as they aim to regain their dominance in African football. Following a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign, the team is looking to bounce back and secure qualification for future tournaments, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
