GFA Congress Approves Three-Term Limit for Presidency

The Ghana Football Association’s 31st Ordinary Congress has overwhelmingly approved the extension of the presidential term limit from two to three, which gives the incumbent president, Kurt Okraku the chance to run for a third term if he so wishes.

Out of 124 delegates, 114, representing 91.94% voted in favour of the proposal. Six delegates opposed it, while three abstained.

The decision means a GFA president can now serve for up to 12 years if re-elected, compared to the previous maximum of eight.

The reform was part of several proposals debated at the Congress, which took place at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
