Ghanaian football icon, Anane Kobo has expressed his excitement for the upcoming 2024 All-Star Festival which is scheduled for June at Tamale.
The All Star Festival is Africa’s official off-season football gathering that brings together international and local football stars to show case their footballing skills while also projecting Ghana’s culture.
With this year’s edition of the All Star Festival coming off at Tamale, a host of former football icons from the Northern region’s capital have shown desire to partake in it.
Former Asante Kotoko striker, Anane Kobo, is one of the renowned former football stars keenly anticipating the 2024 All Star Festival.
In a video, Kobo shared his sentiments about the much awaited event coming to Tamale.
“We are excited the All Star Festival is coming to Tamale. We are all embracing it, so all must come out to support it so that it will be successful”- Anane Kobo.
Kobo played for Real Tamale United (RTU), Asante Kotoko and Brong Ahafo (BA) United.
He also represented Ghana at the under 20 level, under 23 and the senior national team, the Black Stars.
He won the goal king in the Ghana Premier League in 1983 and 1984.
Anane Kobo was the highest earner in the league at his time in 1984, receiving GH¢50 (¢50,000 old cedis) at Kotoko every month.
Preparations are already underway by the organizers of the event, The Business Africa Consulting Group (BAC Group) to ensure a successful organization of the 3rd edition of the All Star Festival.
