Retired assistant referee, A. S. Malik has honoured for his remarkable contributions to football at the legends night in Tamale.
The event celebrated Malik’s distinguished career, which spanned both the local and international stages, and highlighted his invaluable role in the sport.
A. S. Malik’s career is a testament to dedication and excellence in officiating. On the local scene, Malik earned respect and admiration for his fair and authoritative presence on the field as an assistant referee.
His expertise did not go unnoticed, and he was soon called to represent Ghana on the international stage.
In 2011, Malik officiated at the U20 Championship in South Africa, showcasing his skills at the prestigious youth tournament.
His performance there paved the way for even greater opportunities. Two years later, in 2013, Malik was selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa, one of the continent’s most significant football events.
During the Legends Night, Malik expressed his profound gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him. “I didn’t expect something like this,” he said, visibly moved by the recognition. “I am deeply grateful to the BAC Group for this incredible honor. It means so much to me to be acknowledged in this way.”
The BAC Group, organizers of the All Star Festival, emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of individuals like A. S. Malik, whose dedication has significantly impacted football.
