Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman made his UEFA Champions League debut in Feyenoord’s 3-2 away win over Girona on Wednesday evening.
Currently on a season-long loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, Osman started the match and played for 61 minutes before being substituted.
In his dream Champions League debut, the Black Stars attacker electrified the right flank, showcasing his dribbling talent by completing three out of four attempted dribbles, the highest on the field. He was fouled three times, the most on the field along with his teammate Igor Paixão, who also was fouled three times. Osman won eight duels in total, including seven ground duels.
His performance was pivotal in Feyenoord’s crucial away win, with goals from Yadngel Herrera, Antoni Milambo, and an own goal by Ladislav Krejci securing the victory, following Donny van de Beek’s equalizer and David Lopez’s early lead for Girona.
Osman is yet to score or assist in his four appearances for Feyenoord this season.
