Bankroller of Division One side King Faisal FC, Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah, has come out strongly against the idea of introducing a third term for Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidents, particularly while current president Kurt Okraku remains in office.

Under current GFA regulations, a president is allowed two four-year terms, but discussions are underway to potentially approve a third term, pending approval from the football congress.

Kurt Okraku, who assumed office in October 2019, is nearing the halfway mark of his second term. While he is reportedly hopeful for the chance to contest again, the third-term proposal has sparked debate among fans and football stakeholders.

Alhaji Grusah, known for his outspoken nature, has vehemently opposed the idea, stating in an interview with Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio that the current administration does not deserve another term.

Kurt hasn’t done anything for Ghana football. Where are the U-17, U-20, and U-23 teams? His administration is marked by fixed matches—they’ve completely destroyed the game, he said.

He further accused the GFA leadership of dishonesty, claiming that clubs like Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are unaware of the third-term plans, and accused the General Secretary of spreading misinformation to intimidate clubs.

The General Secretary is a blatant liar. None of the clubs have agreed. He just wants to scare them. You’ll see what happens, Grusah warned.

Grusah also questioned Okraku’s transparency, alleging he never truly stepped down from his role at Dreams FC, despite claims to the contrary.

He’s only focused on his personal gain, not the development of Ghana football. Let him finish this term and go, he added, pledging to provide evidence in court if challenged on his match-fixing allegations.

The final decision on the potential third term will be made at the upcoming GFA Congress scheduled for Monday, August 12, 2025.
