Kumasi Asante Kotoko has imposed a ban on Asempa FM from covering any of the club’s organized activities.

The decision was announced in a press release signed by the club’s Director of Communications, Samuel Sarfo Duku. The ban follows the use of derogatory comments by one of the station’s presenters during a sports program.

‘Prof’ EK Wallace, a presenter on the station, controversially stated that a popular Asante Kotoko supporter who tragically lost his life in Nsoatre had been stabbed at a “wee base” rather than at the stadium or its premises. This comment sparked significant controversy among football fans across the country.

In light of the situation, the management of Asante Kotoko has urged its supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, despite the frustration and anger caused by such statements.
