Pooley was fatally stabbed during a Ghana Premier League match against Nsoatreman on February 2, 2025. The incident occurred after an on-field altercation escalated into violence in the stands.
In response to the tragedy, Kotoko suspended all football activities, including league matches, demanding justice for Pooley and improved security at stadiums.
