Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku made a triumphant return from a long-term ACL injury, featuring in Leicester City’s preseason win over Hungarian outfit Zalaegerszeg.
The 20-year-old had been sidelined since November 2024 after sustaining the injury during Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Angola. He returned to action over the weekend, coming on in the 68th minute to replace Will Alves—his first appearance since the setback.
Just two minutes after his introduction, fellow Ghanaian Jordan Ayew netted the only goal of the match, securing Leicester’s second straight preseason win.
Issahaku’s comeback is a major boost for Ghana ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifying matches in September.
Meanwhile, Leicester continue preparations under new boss Marti Cifuentes, with upcoming friendlies against FC Karpaty Lviv and FC Koln on July 25.
