Black Stars assistant coach Desmond Ofei has emphasized that Ghana will approach their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad with the intensity of a final.
In an interview with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) media team, Ofei stressed the importance of delivering a strong performance to secure victory and bring joy to Ghanaian fans.
“We have to focus on ourselves because we have the quality in the squad to ensure we perform on the day. It’s also crucial that we make Ghanaian fans proud, so putting in a solid performance against Chad at home is essential,” Ofei stated.
“We have to fight. This match is like a final for us. It’s vital that we wrap up this window positively and ensure that our supporters are happy with our efforts,” he added.
Ghana will host Chad on March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium in Round 5 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
A victory could see the Black Stars climb to the top of Group I, strengthening their chances of securing a spot in the prestigious tournament.
