Nsoatreman FC launched their debut CAF Confederation Cup journey with a commanding victory over Chad’s Elect Sport at Accra Sports Stadium.
Nsoatreman FC showcased their offensive strength in the final fifteen minutes of the first half, scoring three rapid goals to secure a crucial win.
The newly appointed coach, Yaw Preko, guided Nsoatreman to a historic 3-0 triumph against Elect Sport on Sunday.
Abdul Rahman broke the deadlock with a composed finish in the 31st minute. Two minutes later, ex-Ghana U20 winger Kwabena Adu Meider doubled the lead. Abdul Rahman then netted his second via a low cross from Shaibu Iddrisu in the 36th minute.
Elect Sport’s troubles deepened when their goalkeeper, Mahamat Bechir, was sent off for handling the ball outside his area in the 54th minute.
Stephen Diyou nearly made it four for Nsoatreman, but his shot hit the post in the 70th minute.
Goalkeeper Daniel Afazdwu was busy in the last twenty minutes, making three crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet in their CAF Confederation Cup debut.
The second leg will take place in N’Djamena on August 24, 2024.
