Dreams FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak in Round 24 of the Ghana Premier League at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday night, marking their first triumph over the Phobians since May 2021.
Abdul Razak Salifu’s early goal in the 3rd minute proved to be the difference, as Hearts dominated possession but failed to convert their chances, particularly in the second half.
Dreams made two key changes to their lineup, introducing Salifu and Aziz Musibau, and the tactical shift paid off immediately. Despite controlling play, Hearts struggled to break down a disciplined Dreams defense, managing four shots on target in the first half, all stopped by goalkeeper Gidios Aseako.
After the break, Hearts intensified their attack, registering 12 goal attempts, but their poor finishing let them down. Meanwhile, Dreams did not manage a single shot on goal in the second half but held on with a resolute defensive display. Aseako was instrumental, making five crucial saves to maintain his team’s slender lead.
This victory marked Dreams’ second away win of the season and ended a long winless streak against Hearts. The result lifted them to 12th place in the standings, while Hearts remained in 3rd.
