The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Club Licensing Department has released its inspection report on match venues for the resumption of the season after a temporary break, approving some stadiums while placing others under conditional approval or rejection due to safety and technical concerns.

The report, which outlines the status of 15 stadiums, classified five venues as fully approved for all Category 3 matches, while several others require re-inspection on March 9, 2025. Three stadiums were marked as unapproved due to safety and technical reasons, while two others must fix security-related issues.

Among the venues granted full approval are the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Dun’s Park (Bibiani), Nsenykyire Sports Arena, Kpando Sports Stadium, and TNA Park (Tarkwa). These stadiums meet the GFA’s Enhanced Safety and Security Protocols and will host matches without restrictions.

However, Nii Adjei Kraku II Park, Tuba Astro Turf, Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, and Nana Agyemang Badu Park have been given conditional approval pending a re-inspection on March 9, 2025, to ensure compliance with GFA regulations.

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium and University of Ghana Stadium were flagged for safety and security concerns. The GFA Club Licensing Department has mandated these venues to fix their safe zones before they can host their next official matches.

Three stadiums, Berekum Golden City Park, Wenchi Town Park, and AAK II Sports Arena failed to meet safety and technical requirements.

These venues have been deemed unapproved and will undergo re-inspection on March 9, 2025, to determine if necessary improvements have been made.

The GFA’s decision aims to enhance safety and security at match venues across the country, ensuring that clubs comply with set standards before hosting league games. Clubs using conditionally approved or unapproved venues must expedite renovations to meet requirements.

The Ghana Premier League is set to resume on March 7 following a temporary break caused by the tragic death of Kumasi Asante Kotoko supporter, Nana Pooley, who was fatally stabbed in Nsoatre.
