The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has released an official list of injured players, raising concerns about the team’s readiness for the upcoming matches.
The Black Stars of Ghana have been dealt a major blow ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with several key players ruled out due to injuries.
Among the sidelined players are Alidu Seidu and Abdul Mumin, both recovering from anterior cruciate ligament injuries, while Tariq Lamptey is nursing an ankle ligament injury. Brandon Thomas Asante has suffered a muscle tear, with Joseph Aidoo also dealing with a muscle-related issue. Goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen is recovering from an ankle injury, while rising star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku continues rehabilitation from an anterior cruciate ligament problem.
Other players facing setbacks include Baba Idrissu, who is in recovery, and Ibrahim Sulemana, who has been diagnosed with adductor tendonitis. Daniel Kofi Kyereh is struggling with a knee injury, while Majeed Ashimeru is still in the rebuilding phase from a previous injury. Winger Joseph Painstil is also sidelined due to a quadriceps injury.
The Black stars will play Chad on 21st May at the Accra sports Stadium and play away on 24th against Madagascar in the qualifiers.
