Hearts of Oak have reportedly expressed strong interest in signing forward Isaac Mintah, who has been a target for arch-rivals Asante Kotoko ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The 25-year-old, currently unattached after ending his spell with Libyan club Al-Ahli, has returned to Ghana as he seeks his next move. Mintah joined Al-Ahli in February 2024 following a standout season with Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League.

Before moving to Libya, the former New Edubiase United forward enjoyed a successful campaign, scoring 17 goals and providing 4 assists in 40 appearances in the top-flight. After his short stint in Libya, Mintah has been training with Asante Kotoko since October, with the club’s technical team reportedly assessing his abilities.

However, according to Kumasi-based Kessben FM, Hearts of Oak have now joined the race for the talented forward as they look to strengthen their attacking options in the second transfer window. This sets the stage for a fierce competition between the two Ghanaian giants for Mintah’s signature.

Both clubs are expected to battle it out for the highly-rated attacker when the transfer window opens in January 2025.
